GREEN BAY, Wis. – October 10, 2019 – In partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, the Green Bay Area Public School District and the Green Bay Packers, Associated Bank will host the fourth annual community-wide Stock the BoxTM for Hunger food collection and pep rally on Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The event will be held in the Lambeau Field parking lot at the corner of Lombardi Avenue and Ridge Road.

To help with the collection, Green Bay East, West, Preble and Southwest high schools will be creatively collecting food at their respective schools and then showcasing their collection at the Oct. 19 event, where community members are encouraged to bring nonperishable, non-glass food items and add to their affiliated school’s food collection. The school with the largest food collection will be recognized with a $2,000 grant to their music program. Runners up will receive a $1,500 grant. All food collected will benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

A Packers alumni will greet fans and autograph one item per person (or a photo for an autograph will be provided). In addition, a high school band pep rally and interactive activities will entertain attendees of all ages.

Oct. 19 schedule:

  • 10 a.m. - Food collection begins; community members are invited to begin dropping off food in support of their chosen school
  • 10:15 a.m. – Autograph session with a Packers alumni and high school band pep rally
  • 11:30 a.m. - Local leaders will announce the school with the largest food collection

“Last year, students and community members contributed 7,412 pounds of food, providing 6,738 meals for families and individuals facing hunger in northeast Wisconsin,” said Patti Habeck, president and chief executive officer, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. “We’re proud to partner with Associated Bank, the Green Bay Area Public School District and the Packers to once again host this great event to raise awareness about the issues of hunger and collect food for those in need.”

“Our students look forward to this event each year and invite community members to join their efforts by bringing a donation to Lambeau,” said Dr. Michelle Langenfeld, superintendent of schools and learning. “The Green Bay Area Public School District is thankful for our partnerships with these organizations so everyone can get involved and work together to solve hunger.”

The event will be held rain or shine.
