GREEN BAY, Wis. – June 9, 2021 – Associated Bank, N.A. is partnering with Digital Bridge to help meet the community need for technology resources. Digital Bridge is a local non-profit organization that refurbishes and redistributes technology to those who need it most. Technology will be distributed in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chicago, Dane County, Racine and Rochester.
Associated Bank partnered with Digital Bridge to accomplish Digital Bridge’s mission of digital inclusion by refurbishing technology assets to redistribute among the local community of Milwaukee, WI., across the nation, and around the world. The work impacts vulnerable populations by providing affordable technology and digital literacy workshops so that they have the means to stay connected. Associated Bank and Digital Bridge have partnered with local nonprofits, supporting their good work and helping them further their lasting legacy by providing devices and training for staff and clients.
Associated Bank collected over 273 laptops across several designated Associated Bank pickup locations and donated devices from multiple Associated Bank lines of business. Digital Bridge then refurbished the laptops. The biggest donation is 90 laptops to Milwaukee Succeeds and United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County to provide access to digital learning for students and work friendly devices for professionals by sourcing refurbished technology.
“This initiative is one of the ways in which Associated Bank is supporting closing the digital divide and investing in our intended markets as outlined in our new community commitment plan efforts,” said LaDonna Reed, director of community accountability at Associated Bank. “We are excited to partner with Digital Bridge to help close the digital divide in our local communities.”
Associated’s new Community Commitment Plan (CCP) focuses on helping communities grow and prosper through the provision of sound financial services, volunteerism and community investment. It represents a 40% increase in Associated’s lending and investments efforts from the 2018-20 Plan. The new plan focuses on supporting low-to-moderate income communities and consumers and small businesses across Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
