The United Way of Rock River Valley broke ground Thursday on its third Neighborhood Strong House, starting construction of a new home it hopes will help improve the quality of life for all in the neighborhood.
The house is located at 825 Marie Ave., the site of a previously condemned home, and is intended to serve the needs of the people in that neighborhood and foster a positive relationship between law enforcement and residents.
The house is being built on a lot that was donated to the United Way by Associated Bank. Associated Bank also paid for the demolition of the foreclosed home after it was condemned.
