Associated Bank was recently honored with two awards from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense. The awards were presented by Jim Malcolm, WI ESGR Affinity Group Director, and Leroy Frahm, Director of Ombudsman Services on December 11.
The Seven Seals Award is in recognition of a significant individual or organizational achievement or initiative that supports the ESGR mission of developing and promoting a supportive work environment for service members.
The Above and Beyond Award is presented to employers who have gone above and beyond the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act by providing veterans with additional, non-mandated benefits. At Associated Bank this includes retention of benefits up to 24 months and regular pay for up to six months per deployment, and a deployment trip program for immediate family members of military personnel.
“I’m proud to work for a company that is so supportive of our country’s veterans,” said Tom Irizarry, U.S. Army Sergeant First Class and Information Security Risk Analyst with Associated Bank. “Through our company’s many veteran programs, it shows our leadership truly values the skills and perspective veterans provide and supports us in our military service obligations.”
