Associated Bank has started on the first phase of renovations to the Milwaukee Center office tower in the city’s downtown.

The Green Bay bank purchased the property in 2016 and eventually plans to house 500 of its own employees at the site. Working with architecture firm Rinka and construction firm J.H. Findorff & Son Inc., Associated Bank has started updating the 373,000-square-foot tower at 111 E. Kilbourn Ave.

The updates to the tower target multiple objectives, including recruitment and retention for Associated Bank’s workforce and showing the company’s commitment to Milwaukee.
