The foundation of volunteerism at Associated Bank is built by the efforts of individual colleagues consistently offering their assistance in our communities. One colleague who has expertly helped represent Associated in the community for years is Steve Hansen, Residential Sales Manager at Madison Excelsior Drive.

Hansen has been an active member of Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association (WMBA) for 15 years, serving as a Director, Officer and even the State President. Most recently, he served as Madison Chapter President for the 2012-2013 term, and this month he hands over the reins to the next chapter president.

As part of WMBA Madison Chapter, Hansen was able to use his lending expertise at a local/county level for the organization. Under his leadership, the organization led several educational events to help mortgage professionals navigate recent regulatory changes. They also made it a point to keep realtors, builders and the general public up to date on the lending environment and how mortgage professionals have adapted to changes.

“As members of the WMBA, we take pride in giving back to the communities we serve,” Hansen said. “We have donated funds from our educational and business social events to several local nonprofits and credit educational agencies for direct assistance to the consumer and their organizations.”

Hansen and Madison Chapter WMBA were recently highlighted in the WMBA Brief for their donation of $1,000 each to Habitat for Humanity Dane County and Keep Wisconsin Warm.
