Scholarship awarded to Kevin Kostyk of Naperville, Ill.

Normal, Ill. —June 4, 2013— Associated Bank, part of Associated Banc-Corp (NASDAQ: ASBC), recently awarded the Associated Bank Scholarship to Kevin Kostyk of Naperville, Ill. during Illinois State University’s Katie School Student Recognition Dinner.

The Associated Bank Scholarship was awarded to Kostyk for his outstanding academic and extra-ciricular achievements in insurance and leadership. Awards are given to well-rounded students, which Kostyk demonstrated through his work as Director of Publicity on Gamma Iota Sigma, the Katie School Ambassador Program, and President, VP Membership, and Treasurer on the College of Business Toastmasters. He also benefitted from his Katie School internship in London, and through his work as an underwriting intern at Indiana Insurance.

Kostyk currently attends The Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services at Illinois State University where he majors in Insurance and Finance.

Scholarships are awarded by The Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services in the name of board member affiliated companies. Peter Bulandr, Senior Vice President and Head of Insurance Banking, joined the Insurance Advisory Board of Executives at Illinois State University’s Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services (Katie School) in Normal, Ill in Feb. 2012. Associated is the first commercial bank to be represented on the Insurance Advisory Board.

The Center for Risk Management and Insurance at Illinois State University (The Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services) was established in 1991. The Katie School helps develop students and prepare them for careers in the risk management and insurance professions. The school is guided by an Advisory Board of Insurance Executives, and provides annual scholarships and grants totaling over $100,000 to attract future industry leaders. The Katie School offers internships and mentorship programs to prepare students for careers in the insurance industry. The Katie School also provides educational outreach to the local community and to the insurance industry.
