Associated Bank announced on October 6 the hiring of Phillip E. Hickman as president of the Southern Illinois Community Market. That region includes Associated’s banking operations in East St. Louis, Fairview Heights, Belleville and surrounding areas.
In the new role, Hickman will oversee banking and other financial services operations for Associated’s eight branches in the region. He will also lead an expanded company commitment to the market including the addition of locally based financial services targeted to the unique needs of its consumer and commercial customers.
Timothy J. Lau, Associated’s executive vice president and head of community markets, noted that Hickman’s extensive industry experience will be a significant asset in his new role. “Phil’s impressive management experience in the banking industry makes him highly qualified to lead our commitment to expand the depth and breadth of our business offerings in the Southern Illinois Community Market,” Lau said.
Hickman joins Associated from Park Bank, based in Milwaukee. He most recently served as executive vice president, and has also held a number of other senior market management and marketing positions with that organization beginning in 1996.
In addition to Park Bank, Hickman has prior experience with First Bank, M&I/Valley Bancorporation, Citicorp and Farm Credit Services.
He has held numerous board and volunteer roles for organizations including the Whitnal Schools Foundation, The Ohio State University Club of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Urban League, the United Way of Greater Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and several others.
Hickman holds an MBA degree from Capital University (OH) and a bachelor’s of science degree from The Ohio State University.

Greene has nearly 20 years of banking and financial services experience with 14 years of commercial banking experience with UMB Bank, Fifth Third Bank, and U.S. Bank. Most recently Greene served as vice president of commercial banking in the Metro East/Southern Illinois region for UMB.
Greene holds an undergraduate degree from the John M.
