Associated Bank’s Stock the BoxTM for Hunger campaign to benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, now in its third year, recently celebrated with a food collection and pep rally at Lambeau Field in partnership with the Green Bay Area Public School District and the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay East, West, Preble and Southwest high school bands were challenged to a friendly competition to gather the largest food collection per student. Over 7,400 pounds of food were collected by the four schools and local middle schools, equating to 6,738 meals.

Green Bay West High School collected the most food per student and received the $2,000 grant to their music program. Associated Bank also provided a $1,500 grant to each of the three remaining schools.

According to Danielle Scherer, band director at West High School, the money will be used to purchase a new portable sound system and additional percussion equipment as student interest in percussion is growing.

“I’m inspired by the passion, enthusiasm and drive of the students in the band at West,” said Scherer. “They continually strive for greatness and it's really exciting to help and watch them grow.”

The food will be distributed to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin member pantries, shelters and meal programs throughout the area.
