Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting’s 2017 Leaders Forum took place on Tuesday, May 16, at the Minneapolis Convention Center and Wednesday, May 17, at the Green Bay KI Convention Center. The half-day summit, offered compelling, thought-provoking information to over 550 area business leaders to help them maximize their potential and keep their organizations on a path of success.
The event kicked-off with a powerful keynote presentation by Dr. Paul G. Stoltz, best-selling author, founder and CEO of PEAK Learning, Inc. Stoltz shared information from his globally acclaimed book, GRIT: The New Science of What it Takes to Persevere, Flourish, Succeed. He suggests that truly thriving, whether in our personal or professional lives, requires GRIT — the capacity to dig deep and realize our most worthy goals in the best ways.
Following Stoltz were two educational breakout sessions led by Associated’s industry experts:
- “Economic update: The year of unlikely outcomes” by Sara Walker, CFA, senior vice president, chief economist. In this session, Walker discussed the changes that have taken place in the first hundred days of Trump’s presidency and the short-term and long-term impacts it has had on employers and the economy.
- “The importance of a holistic approach to employee financial wellness” by Bret McKitrick, JD, senior vice president, senior HR consultant. McKitrick showed the importance of adopting an employee well-being philosophy when it comes to providing financial education, savings opportunities and employees benefits, thereby increasing participation and enhancing recognition of the competitive compensation and benefits packages offered.
“We are proud to host this event, which is designed to inspire and empower leaders in the communities we serve,” said Dean Hildebrandt, CEO of Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting. “We hope that these leaders were able to leave the event with renewed insight and motivation.”
