Recently, 109 Associated Bank colleagues, friends and family members participated in the annual Bellin 10k Run. Participants were invited to practice for the event through free Bellin Clinic run practices, as well as Green Bay Service Center’s Walk/Run Club.
First held in 1977, the Bellin Run was known as the Bellin Heartwarming Run. Intended to be a one-time event, the run drew 881 participants its first year. Early the following year, Bellin began receiving calls inquiring about the date of the next run; the rest is history. Now in its 38th year, the run continues to grow and inspire healthy living.
Captains of the team this year were Associated colleagues Jerry Weigel, senior residential loan manager; James Ryberg, senior customer care system and support; Jamie Phillips, operations technician; and Patti Christopherson, accountant — fixed assets.
“Now my fourth year, the experience was fantastic,” said Ryberg. “The people, the volunteers and colleagues make is so much fun. To be able to complete this year’s event is a real accomplishment, and being one of the captains was an honor.”
