Todd Bartels, senior vice president & commercial bank team leader at Associated Bank, along with his wife Julie were recognized for their commitment to education through a scholarship fund he set up last year to benefit students who are continuing their education in areas they expect will fuel economic growth.
In 2014, Todd and his wife donated funds to establish the Todd and Julie Bartels Annual Scholarship for continuing University of Wisconsin – Green Bay students in physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology – areas the couple views as emerging growth areas for the community. The scholarship was established at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where they are both alumni from the class of 1982.The two created the fund with appreciation for their own university careers and the first-hand knowledge that college is hard work.
“Both Julie and I worked at several jobs all through college and we know how hard it can be to juggle work and studies,” said Todd. “In fact, Julie was the recipient of a scholarship in her senior year, which was critical in allowing her to finish. We both believed it was important to pay that back in some way.”
