Early in the Packers game against the Vikings at Lambeau Field on October 2, thousands of fans were out of their seats searching for 28 lost “wallets” belonging to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which were randomly hidden below the stadium seats.
This in-stadium execution, complete with a Tundra Vision video featuring Rodgers searching for his lost wallet, marked the kickoff of the “Winning Wallets” campaign sponsored by Associated in partnership with United Way — where a trio of rival football stars will lose their wallets for charity.
“This is another exciting phase of an extensive celebration Associated has created to mark our long-standing relationship with the Packers Organization,” said Christopher Piotrowski, chief marketing officer, Associated Bank. “The campaign also plays off the storied rivalries in Illinois and Minnesota.”
Winning Wallets sends football fans on a scavenger hunt across Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois for the lost wallets of football legends Aaron Rodgers, Randall McDaniel and Dan Hampton. Now through Nov. 16, wallets will be hidden throughout the tri-state region in Associated branches and at business partner locations. In Minnesota and Illinois, some wallets will be placed out in the communities.
Individuals must “like” Associated Bank on Facebook or follow them on Twitter to be eligible, and get clues for finding the wallets.
Each lucky winner and a guest will be invited to an exclusive Associated Bank-hosted event in December, where they’ll have the opportunity to meet and mingle with a pro football legend in Chicago, Minneapolis and Green Bay. Illinois winners will get to meet Hampton at Soldier Field. McDaniel will congratulate winners at Target Field. And Rodgers will welcome guests at Lambeau Field. Each winner will receive autographed merchandise and have a photo opportunity with the football legend. The event will be limited to 225 guests to allow guests better opportunity to celebrate with the football greats.
Associated will donate $30,000 to be shared by United Way organizations in Chicago, Minneapolis and Green Bay once all 300 wallets are found.
“We’re excited to engage fans and our customers with our partnership with the United Way and its nonprofit partners through this fun experience,” Piotrowski said.
