Associated Bank recently acknowledged the efforts of its volunteers for 2013, including Theresa Heintz, relationship banker in Beloit at the Henry branch. Heintz volunteers for Junior Achievement; a “Reality Store” event in which students work through real-life financial scenarios; and serves in a financial literacy class at Beloit Memorial High School.

“Financial literacy is the best weapon against poverty,” said Heintz. “I am passionate about educating and empowering our youth to make smart financial decisions. I am proud that Associated supports my efforts in strengthening our community.”

Heintz was one of more than 250 Associated Bank colleagues who logged more than 50 volunteer hours last year, making her eligible for $250 to donate to a local organization. She selected the financial literacy class for the donation, which will help the school obtain new financial software.

“Our new branch recently opened, and we were excited to be able to contribute an additional $250 towards the purchase of financial education software as part of our ongoing community support,” said Kevin Arp, senior branch manager.

Members of the class and their teacher were invited to the branch on April 22 for the check presentation.
