Associated Bank is proud to partner with Housing Resources, Inc. to help people in our community become financially prepared for successful homeownership. As the first step in the process, a group of potential homebuyers recently attended one of the first-time homebuyer workshops offered by Housing Resources, Inc., which featured a home loan presentation by Shiela Roberts, residential loan officer, Associated Bank.

The homebuyer workshops are designed to offer an extensive overview of the home buying process. After completing two workshops, individuals participate in a one-on-one counseling session with a homeownership specialist and receive a certificate of completion as a requirement for down payment and closing cost grants as well as special loan products.

“Associated Bank has a strong tradition of working with community partners like Housing Resources, Inc. to provide financial education, guidance and a broad range of affordable loan programs to help people achieve their dream of successful homeownership,” said Eduardo Herrera-Mier, CRA residential loan manager.

“Homebuyer education should be the first step for any first-time homebuyer preparing to purchase a home,” said Trena Bond, executive director, Housing Resources, Inc. “Buyers learn how to navigate their way through the purchase process with the advocacy and support of HRI staff. Working in partnership with Associated Bank, we empower people to own a home, which helps stabilize families and facilitate neighborhood improvement.”
