Associated Bank was the proud presenting sponsor of the Easter Seals Walk with Me event that took place recently at the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee.
Associated supported the cause with a $10,000 donation, helping to fund vital programs needed to be able to give nearly 400 children with autism and other disabilities the best head start possible in early critical developmental years. The donation also assisted in providing over 300 individuals with disabilities opportunities to have meaningful jobs, support over 500 adults in day services, and promote independent living and touch the lives of over 10,000 individuals and their families in Southeast Wisconsin.
“We are fortunate to have monetary and volunteer support from our friends at Associated Bank that believe in our mission to create new possibilities for the thousands of children and adults living with a disability,” said Bob Glowacki, CEO, Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin.
Sara Walker of Associated is part of the organizations Volunteer Leadership team, and Joe Pieper, Mary Lou Schirpke and Jeff Schaefer of Associated are volunteer champions for the organization.
”There is an increased number of families that are asking for help from Easter Seals and it is because of the funds raised through the walk that the families are able to have all of these services available,” said Glowacki.
Easter Seals has been providing services to disabled people for over 80 years. Walk with Me is Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin’s signature fundraising event that began in 2007 and takes place annually. The event helps raise awareness of Easter Seals to those in the community, and is also a great way to engage current Easter Seals supporters. The participation of volunteers on the walk provides opportunities for people with disabilities to live with equality, dignity and increased independence.
